July 20th, this Sunday was full of nothing and full of everything! This day we had our official photoshoot, videoshoot, and interview! So many things, but because there’s a whole 56 of us, there was a lot of waiting that had to be done! But before we could start, we had to have our hair and makeup done, motives cosmetics did an amazing job!

Later we got changed into our cocktail dresses

In that we did our photoshoot and videoshoot, which was so much fun! The photographer and videographer both made you feel very comfortable and relaxed, even if something was going wrong!

Interview was obviously quite nerve wrecking, but I believe I did a good job. Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of my interview outfit, but I’ll describe it in a few short words; sleek black dress, up to my knees, with a flower on the top left corner! And a classy redish/pinkish jacket, and black high heels.

It was lots of fun, and I had an amazing day!

Yay! So on Saturday July 19th we finally made it to the hotel for finals week! And after getting dressed up, doing our makeup, and signing in to our rooms, and meeting our roommates, it was time for the welcome party!

This is where we met all the girls, chaperones, and sponsors! Which were all SO amazing! Our amazing sponsors; Golden Glamour Goddesses, Wright Spas, Hi-Tec Shoes, and Motives Cosmetics.
They are all so amazing, and gave us some wonderful gifts, and services!

So that was day 1 for me, I found it so much fun and was really looking forward to more fun with the girls, and more work with the sponsors!

Okay, I know I haven’t been posting in a while! YIKES! But I got a couple of big ones coming up here! So here it comes…

The first event I went to I did not wear my sash or crown, why? I did not want to shine out and have all the attention on me, when it wasn’t my event, and it was for a sad but reasonable cause! The event was made to fund-raise money for medications in Ukraine. A young lady named Halyna was hosting and organizing the event, she planned to buy medicine and fly to Ukraine to give it to those in need. The minimum you could put in to join the event (which included a coupon to the restaurant where it was being held, for a free appetizer if you buy a main course! YUM!) was $20 I know there is a lot of people in need of help there, and people who are close to me that have families there which are struggling, so why not put in $50, right? Anyway, I went with my boyfriend and we decided not to put those coupons to waste and have dinner there! The restaurant is called Ganzi, it is Italian… And the whole menu is IN ITALIAN! So we both had to ask the waiter what every single item on the menu was… That was not so exciting. But the food, oh my goodness the food was heaven sent! The portions were not so big, but the way it was prepared, served, and how it tasted was perfection! I have never been to Italy (although I REALLY REALLY want to!) but I’m quite sure that that is what the food there would taste like! Ganzi is not sponsoring me, and I am not doing this “promotion” because I have made a deal, I am saying this straight from my heart! All in all that was a great night! Many people came out to support Ukraine, and give money for a good cause, plus the food was definitely worth the 1 and a half hour long drive.

On friday February 14th, 2014 I had a photo shoot with the wonderful photographer Laura Domnar, and the makeup artist Keisha-Maria Chisholm. These two amazing and talented ladies made me feel very welcome at the shoot, which took place at the Sheridan College, Oakville. We started off by doing my hair, and then my makeup which turned out to be very beautiful and “Doll-Like” (considering that was our theme). Then we continued to pick the wardrobe, my first outfit was a peachy-pink dress with a lace top, pink tights, and beige heels, This was our sweet, but emotionless doll. The next outfit was the more “spooky” one, I wore a black tutu, that had red leafs inside it at the bottom, a black lace top, and long red high heel boots, this was a very intense but awesome look! Our second last look was “Alice in Wonderland” themed, very curious, sweet, and interesting, this one I had the most fun with because I had to act really bubbly and as if I was seeing everything around me for the first time, I was wearing a white skirt with a flower design at the bottom, a lace crop top, and beautiful white lace Louboutin heels. The last look was similar  but we were only doing head shots in it, I had a purple bubble skirt on, and a really sparkly top! This look created the most interesting type of photographs! At the end of the day we had SO many interesting and beautiful photos! This was so much fun! And both the makeup artist and photographer are so talented, I recommend them to anyone looking for some interesting and creative works, but anything simple can be done as well! I will be seeing the pictures in a couple of days, and will be sure to post them along with photos from previous photo shoots. I hope everyone had an amazing Valentine’s Day, and Family Day, keep working hard to achieve your dreams, and remember to always stay healthy and active, take new opportunities, and live your life up to the fullest! You will regret every chance that you don’t take.

My first outfit, and makeup from the shoot.

Hi everybody welcome to my blog! My name is Maria (Or Masha) Mezenina, and I’ll be writing here at least once a week!  I was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia it is a city that is located on the boarder of Europe and Asia.

When I was seven years old, my family and I moved to Toronto Canada. I grew up with my sister and both of my parents until, the age of eleven when they divorced and my father moved back to Russia. Throughout my life, I was involved in several different activities such as, rhythmic gymnastics, where I had the chance to train in the Russian Olympic Reserve School in Moscow, in three different provinces around Canada, and competed as a National Level Athlete.

Competition in Montreal, Quebec (2011)

Training in the Russian Olympic Reserve School, Moscow, Russia. (2010)

With the Wascana Rhythmic Gymnastics team, in Regina Saskatchewan. (2013)

I was also engaged in classical ballet and performed twice in The Nutcracker, and in The Fairy Doll Ballet. I studied modern dance as well but did not do any competitions or shows related to it.

The Nutcracker, Waltz of the Flowers (2011)

The Fairy Doll, Japanese Dolls (2012)

In elementary school I was also involved in several sports such as volleyball, basketball, badminton, cross country, and track and field.

Unfortunately at the end of the year of 2012 I injured my back, which caused me to quit rhythmic gymnastics, ballet, and dance. That was when I got involved in healthy eating, and hitting the gym to stay in shape!

Aside from all the sports, I also have a wide interest in criminology, psychology, philosophy, and kenisiology, I am planning to get three university degrees and later become a teacher. I have a huge love for kids, and inspiring the young to be open minded and intelligent individuals. In fact, almost every place I have done volunteer work at involves children, and every job I have ever worked did, and does, too.

Now that you know more about me, you probably want to know why I entered the pageant right?

Well now that I am a delegate for the title of Miss Teenage Canada 2014, my dream is to be an inspiration and role model to the younger generation, and to those struggling with eating disorders. My goal is to motivate those living an unhealthy lifestyle to overcome their bad eating habits and start being healthy and active individuals. I believe that Miss Teenage Canada could really help me reach my goal, and that I will be able spread the message and help others!

I’m really looking forward to meet the beauties from all over Canada, and have the week of a lifetime!

If you’re down here you probably read the whole post, YAY! So thank you for reading, don’t be shy to leave a comment (As long as it’s not rude), and remember to follow my Facebook and Twitter page!
